Vladimir Putin launched the work of a new special metallurgy complex built at the Ruspolimet metallurgical plant via video link.
The site, designed to produce high-quality metal for mechanical engineering, was launched during a meeting with the president dedicated to the development of domestic metallurgy. Governor Gleb Nikitin and the head of the enterprise Viktor Klochai got in touch from the workshop of special electrometallurgy of Ruspolimet.
In the report, the industrialist said that over the past 15 years, a large-scale re-equipment program has been carried out at the plant, as a result, a world-class complex in the field of special metallurgy has been created, whose products are used in leading industries. To increase production, a new site has been built, where two new furnaces are put into operation on the eve of a professional holiday - Metallurgist's Day.
"Launch it," the president said.
According to Viktor Klochai, three more vacuum arc (VDP) and electroslag remelting (ESP) furnaces will be launched at Ruspolimet by the end of September.
As reported, with the introduction of a series of new installations, Ruspolimet in 2024 will almost double the production of metal by vacuum arc and electroslag smelting methods.
Recall that the first stage of the Ruspolimet special electrometallurgy workshop consisting of three VDP furnaces and three ESP furnaces was built in 2014-2017. It is one of the best centers of special metallurgy in Europe.
